Game rules & how to play

Objective

  • Everyone races through the same fixed set of 5–20 words — all solved Wordle-style.
  • The player who solves the most words (fewest guesses, fastest time) wins.

Setup

  • The host picks a word category (General English or Naija Slang) and how many words the race covers (5, 10, 15 or 20).
  • The host can set a whole-game timer (2, 5, 10 or 15 minutes) or leave it untimed so the race runs until everyone finishes.
  • Everyone gets the exact same word sequence, in the same order.

How it works

  • Each word is solved like Wordle — type a guess and get colour feedback on every letter.
  • Solve a word to move on to the next one. Run out of guesses and the word counts as a miss and you advance anyway — nobody gets stuck.
  • You only see the word you are currently solving; nobody can read ahead in the sequence.

Scoring

  • Every solved word scores base points — fewer guesses means more points.
  • Solving a word on your first guess earns a +200 perfect bonus.
  • Unsolvable words score 0. There are no streaks — each word scores independently.

Game end

  • Untimed races end when every seated player finishes the sequence.
  • Timed races auto-submit when the clock hits zero: solved words keep their points, your current word is lost, and unreached words score nothing.
  • Standings rank by most words solved, then fewer total guesses, then faster total time.

Frequently asked questions

How many players do you need for Wordle?
Wordle works with 2–20 players. Create a game on FateRound, share the link or code, and everyone joins from their browser — no sign-up required.
Is Wordle free to play online?
Yes. Wordle on FateRound is completely free — no download, no payment, and no account needed. Create a game and start playing in under a minute.
Can I play Wordle on my phone?
Yes. FateRound runs in any mobile browser. Share the room link in your group chat and everyone can play Wordle from their phone or desktop.
How do trophies work in Wordle?
Trophies are earned automatically as you play — things like finishing your first game, racking up wins, or hitting a milestone. Bronze, silver, gold, and platinum trophies are listed above with what they need; some are secret and only reveal themselves once you've earned them. Trophies and points carry over to your FateRound profile across every game.
How do you play multiplayer Wordle?
The host picks a category (General English or Naija Slang), how many words to race through (5, 10, 15 or 20), and an optional whole-game timer. Everyone starts on word one and solves each word like classic Wordle — six guesses to crack it. Solve it and you move on; run out of guesses and it counts as a miss and you advance anyway.
How is multiplayer Wordle scored?
Every solved word scores base points — the fewer guesses you use, the more you earn, and a first-guess solve scores a +200 perfect bonus. There are no streaks. Standings rank by most words solved, then fewer total guesses, then faster total time.
